Steel reinforcement within concrete has to be specified in accordance to BS8666, which contains the requirement for dimensioning, bending and cutting of the bar. Also, the Istrute guide to detailing is commonly used which gives detailed sketches and minimum requirement for specific members (i.e, beams, slabs retaining walls etc.)
